We believe travel is art.

Not as a tagline. As a design principle. Art is intentional. Art has a point of view. Art is built to make you feel something you couldn't feel anywhere else. And just like great art, truly great travel doesn't happen by accident — it's designed.Most retreats look the same because most retreat planners think the same. A destination gets chosen. A hotel gets booked. An agenda gets filled. And everyone goes home with a tote bag and a vague sense that something was missing.

TELA was founded to solve that.

Morgan, a former Lead Experience Researcher at Google and Etsy, spent a decade studying what makes people feel something — and then looked at the retreat industry and saw the opposite. Cookie-cutter experiences. Disconnected itineraries. Travel that skims the surface of a place instead of going inside it.

So she built TELA on a different foundation entirely: Experience Design.

The same principles that shape the world's most powerful products — human-centered research, emotional storytelling, intentional design at every touchpoint — applied to travel. The result is retreats where every moment earns its place, every detail has a purpose, and the experience itself becomes the thing people can't stop talking about
