Heritage Weekend
Lincoln Hills, Colorado
June 25- 28, 2027
About Lincoln Hills
The Martha's Vineyard of the West - an untold story, until now. Lincoln Hills was once a rare oasis in the Rockies where Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, and Black visionaries came to rest, create, and be free. Now, TELA is inviting you to bring that legacy back to life.
❋ Rooted in HistoryFrom fly fishing to heritage tours, every moment is designed to connect you to the land and legacy of Lincoln Hills — where Black freedom, ownership, and joy were not just possible, but protected.
❋ Elevated OutdoorsEvery curated detail — the chefs, the music, the land, the gifts — has been thoughtfully chosen to reflect the culture, excellence, and legacy this experience is built to honor.
❋ Communal by DesignThis is not a solo experience. From fireside whiskey tastings to closing dinners, the connections you build here are part of the inheritance — just as the Greats who gathered on this land before you knew.
❋ The Art of the ExhaleWhite-glove service beneath open skies. The crackle of a fire pit, the stillness of the Rockies, and the quiet pleasure of being exactly where you belong. This is rest, elevated
Meet your Host: Morgan
Morgan is a former Googler, founder of TELA, and proud granddaughter of the Smith family - on a mission to tell the stories the world hasn't heard yet.
Raised in Philadelphia, she grew up on her parents' stories of Denver, where her grandparents once vacationed at Lincoln Hills. It wasn't until she noticed how many of her peers had never even heard the name that she realized this history deserved a bigger stage.
After having lived in 5 countries and traveled to 40+, Morgan founded TELA, a retreat planning agency built around curated gatherings that help others share the stories that shaped them. Now, with Lincoln Hills part of her own family legacy, she's bringing that same mission full circle — reviving its narrative through an immersive travel experience of its own.
